Religious Awards
There are several reasons why Girl Scout councils promote religious awards programs to the membership:
- to encourage girls to grow stronger in their faith
- to allow girls to fulfill their promise to "serve God," which they commit to whenever they make the Girl Scout Promise
- to promote family values
- as a service to Girl Scouts and their families
- to make leaders aware of these programs
- as a service to religious communities
- in recognition that usage of these programs is increasing
A girl can earn a "My Promise, My Faith" pin every year. Requirements are listed in The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting.
